Paramus had its best stretch when it was too late.  They got pins at 119 and 125 to end the match, but Montville gets the trophy.

What a battle

Amazing bout at 112.  Tony Nadera of Paramus built a 9-2 lead only to see Mike Polizzi battle back to tie it 10-10 heading to the 3rd.  But Nadera hit two 5-point moves in the 3rd to win 22-16!

Adding it up

Rob Glasser of Montville scored a 14-1 over Tarik Jerai at 103, nearly had a tech fall but settled for the major.

It’s official

Montville will win its first sectional title ever.  Billy Mulligan pinned Joe Down in the first period at 215 to make it mathematically impossible for Paramus to catch up.

Zach Chibane of Paramus pinned Rob Tancer at heavyweight, only their second bout win.

What a pin for Montville

Paramus is in deep trouble after Greg Barnish’s pin of Anthony Mordaga at 171.  What a match, Barnish was on his back but fought off and caught Mordaga late in the 2nd.

UPDATE:  As I was typing this, Taylor Bernstein pinned Jimmy Suess at 189 in the first period.  It’s just about over, folks.

Shane Parcel of Montville dominated Mike Sebahie but couldn’t get the pin.  However his 17-2 tech fall win adds five points to the Mustangs’ account.

Another big pin

Montville strikes again with a pin in a bout where it wasn’t necessarily expected.  Vinnie Lizza did the trick at 152 against Doug Bucci at 3:17.

Mark Cirillo scored multiple takedowns to defeat Mike Forlenza, 17-7, at 145, as the Spartans score their first points.

Kevin Alexander continued Montville’s strong start at 140.  He hit a 4-point move in the second period and a late takedown gave him a 10-2 major decision over Anthony Melon.
